A Typical Day in My Life

Regular readers will know that life is pretty steady here a typical day being less than hectic.
Here is an example of a typical day, could be weekday or weekend doesn’t matter

Bed 2.30 the night before up 6.45
Switch computer on and make large cup of tea
Check websites and reply to emails etc
    Work out
    Cook breakfast
    Bath
    Put washing machine on
    Clean bathroom and kitchen
    Ready to go out 9am

Behind the back of my house there is a nature park - trail - fields type thingy. I am told it was once an important place with marshlands containing many rare plants, insects and bird life etc.
It was known as The Freshney Bog I believe, and is mentioned somewhere as having been visited by Miriam Rothschild !
Being in the Grimsby area, much is lost, of course, but some remains. Here are a couple photographs depicting the lake - marshes, only a few minutes walk from La Casa Goldeneye

Here is a shot taken from another angle and showing the second half

The second part of the above

The pathway I walk which takes me through to Laceby runs along side a meandering river, see picture below for more excitement

After that, back home, pint of pure orange, then get the car out and go to the seaside !
I reached the border OK but when entering the principality of Cleethorpes little did I realise it had turned into a police state !
Needless to say, the fine fellows that make up the Cleethorpes Constabulary saw at once I was a Freeman of the Borough of Great Grimsby so your hosts credentials and indeed progress were not checked.

I began to wonder whether it was an annual day out for the Lincolnshire Police as van after van showed itself even 2 huge police horses, being driven by 2 policewomen - one of whom was hot :) , surely I’ve not been transported back into time and landed in the middle of the miner’s strike ?

Anyhoo, progress continued and I wandered the length of the beach half way to the yacht club

Horses On Cleethorpes Beach

You are not allowed to have dogs on the beach at Cleethorpes although it appears fine to allow Shire horses on to crap all over it !

Normally I would walk a great deal further but the ever increasing police presence and the closing of roads ! suggested it may be time to head for the hills, via a bacon bun of course.
I was subsequently informed that this imitation of a bad night in Belfast c 1980 was due to footballists.
Apparently 22 men are going to kick a leather bag full of wind about for 90 minutes in the hope of getting it between two sticks. A feat neither side managed according to the BBC website.

Because the other team was Lincoln this increased the propensity for violence, don’t ask me why. the whole thing is beyond the limited range of my reason I am afraid. I did wonder how much all this was costing and who the hell was paying for it all ?

Feeling perambulationarily (new word ?) robbed I headed for Weelsby Woods. Another pleasant place and very well kept. Lots of fun for all the family or indeed the solitary bachelor. The park entrance is graced by two impressive stone carved lions - I meant to photograph these but forgot - sorry
Here is one vista though

This takes me to lunchtime, the whole afternoon and evening to go. As this has gone on for a while I should bring the curtain down prematurely on a typical Goldeneye Day.

it’s pretty steady, don’t know about lovely but I certainly cannot complain.
I’ll check with the booking office but I suspect all the tickets for the Goldeneye Bandwagon are sold I am afraid, I can put you down for a cancellation though, should one arise :)
