5 Things You Wish You’d Done
Being in the midst of another classic Goldeneye idea, I’ve not defrosted the fridge for months and decided to do it on the coldest day with snow on the ground, I though I wish I’d done this ages ago.
So, whilst holding an electric heater with wet hands and standing in a pool of water my mind wandered off to things I wish I had done.
Here are 5 things I wish I had done
-
1: Had a classical education and gone to Oxford University
2: Kept up with working out and weight training over the last 4-5 years
3: Achieved something notable or that would live on after my death
4: Paid more attention to people I have known in the past
5: Fought for my country
Anyone else ?
Doesn’t need to be 5, one or any amount !

Rod,
Wish i’d:
1. Listened to my Father
2. Not been a chef
3. Not discovered beer
4. Not stopped working abroad
5. Rushed home from the gym for the Whitesnake dvd that didn’t arrive.

Not discovered beer
I hear that one !
That said, some of my most memorable escapdes would never have happened were it not for copious amounts of ale !

Rod,
Let’s deal with your memorable escapades first …. would we be wrong in assuming most of these are to do with the seduction of lots of women ….. if so the Witches don’t regard that as sufficiently noteworthy. Could we have a little list of some of your other escapades?
As for ourselves and what we would have wished to achieve … well, our aspirations were so low at witchling level that we were certain to over-achieve! We find ourselves very content with our lot in life and would never have put money on the eventual outcome. Nevertheless :
We wish we’d ….
1. Taken a good deal less notice of parental advice and purchased a house in Lincoln when they were going for under £5,000.
2. Achieved a decent career in the art world
3. Taken our driving licence long before the age of 25 …. and bought that sports car we had our eye on then.
4. Studied medicine, psychology and head cheffing …. in other words, had more confidence in our abilities as a young witchling.
5. Never seen an ab-cruncher let alone use one - ouch!
WoE - humbly grateful for the things we have now (apart from all the aches and pains)

My escapades that had drink in the equation are wide and varied though and cover a lot of ground. Granted there are one or two recurring themes but that is enough detail from the past I think - none of it looks good written down - as we know !
Nice to see such a solid, reliable and unassuming wish list, I would expect nothing less from your good self.
I see you in another life as a starving artist in a garret

Rod and LB,
Should we wish to reconvene our lost artistic tendencies, can we rely on you both for models in life drawing class? It’s just that some of us are now keen to get on with the things we haven’t yet achieved ….. and that Rod, should sort your number 3 out. We think it safe to say that no one will recognize you in our abstract etchings so you may feel at ease.
WoE - on the lookout for a garret
p.s. does the top deck count? We are prepared to kick Roger Federer and Jonny Wilkinson out if absolutely necessary.

LB,
Have no fear …. it’s always steamy hot on the top deck of the coven, and besides our fig tree provides not only fruit but also essential foliage!
You may both bring along things that represent your lives … however not cardboard cut-outs of Pamela Anderson.
While we’re at it, I see no reason why we shouldn’t grant Rod number 7 on his wish list, surely all we’ll need is my rotring pen, some black ink and a box of paracetamol?

a really good list, thanks for taking the time to share it with us and please do feel free to comment and visit us again. You are now ‘approved’ and any comment will automatically go live.
As to your #3 I did the self same thing myself, though never regretted it thankfully
All the best

Not in this weather you can’t
I wouldn’t risk nude modelling in the vicinity of my life size Pammie cut out. The resultant etching could be just what, friend of the site, Janet keeps asking me for !
Your top deck is ripe for conversion into multiple garrets, you could run a home for waife and stray artists - I’m sure a much travelled man would not mind
I just cross posted what LB said
PS fig leaves no use for LB, think Dock Leaves

1: Fixed the mirror above my bed more securely
2: Sacked my valet years ago
3: Not been shot in the leg scaling the Berlin Wall one night many years ago
4: Not been caught in the Russian embassy in Prague
5: Not been caught with a colonial governor’s wife
Keep it Up !
