Here’s how the day went

In Praise of Older Women ~ It’s how you look and feel not your age
There’s an increasing number of women looking and feeling at their very best despite, in theory, being middle aged. Much is made in the press of Cougars and the like but I believe it’s actually true in many cases - not just press waffle

Claxby Village and St Mary’s Church - a Look into the History.
Situated about 4 miles from Market Rasen (not to be confused with others) Claxby is beautifully situated in the Wolds between two woods, Claxby Woods and Claxby Platts.
It’s a small but delightful place

I see Blue Tits almost everywhere, in fact around me they are possibly more common than Sparrows nowadays. Great Tits less so but still regularly in woodlands.
Less common still, at least in my experience, is the Coal Tit and I recently got a picture of what I think is one

How Hot Does it Get in Lincolnshire ?
Everybody knows that Lincolnshire is the finest place on the planet so there’s no need to discuss that further but I know there are sun worshippers out there, and indeed dirt worshippers, who might like to know whether this is the place for a baking hot vacation.
Well is it ?
Of course it is you fool ! Take this weekend

The Lancaster Crash Site on the Brocklesby Estate at Great Limber in Lincolnshire
Today I finally found the crash site and I have to say it was quite a moving place to stand.
Having failed to find it several times now, thanks History Hunter for directions that even I could follow, I was so pleased to find it and; on such a glorious day.
To celebrate you’ll see a fledgling now feature rolled out . . .

RIP Ronnie James Dio
I learnt this morning that Ronnie James Dio, former lead singer with Rainbow and Black Sabbath lost his battle with stomach cancer and died yesterday May 16 2010.
I’ve been listening to RJD sing for well over 30 years now and as I sit here and write this I can see him on stage when I went to see Dio live over a quarter of a century ago
