Goxhill Priory or Goxhill Hall ~ Research Pictures & History

Medieval buildings, notwithstanding churches, are few and far between around here. Usually, the best that can be hoped for when searching for priories or abbeys are some ‘bumps in the ground’
There’s earthworks aplenty on this site but also a lot of building still standing !

Helen Fospero and Adrian Chiles ~ GMTV Love Match ?

Helen Fospero and Adrian Chiles ~ Love Match ?
Somehow I doubt it but as I read about it I understand it must appear so - on-screen chemistry and the like - it’s all a mystery to me as to what happens romantically on sofas as it’s, sadly, a mere memory.
Likewise daytime TV is shrouded in mystery to me but I’ll struggle on . . .

There could be, as usual, too many exclamation marks in this piece. That could mean I’m ranting or expressing points strongly or … if you follow the advice of somebody, I forget who but he’s a world famous author - that famous I’ve forgotten his name, if you see any more than 3 exclamation marks in a piece you’re reading the work of a nutter !
I’ll let you, as ever, arbitrate on that one

Walking on a Summer’s Evening in Lincolnshire

Barrow Haven Anti Aircraft Battery WWII

Barrow Haven is a small hamlet close to the Humber coast, near Barrow Upon Humber and Barton Upon Humber and was the site of a Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery during World War 2.
Today I was incredibly fortunate and got to look round the site and take some photographs - it’s a rare treat as there is no access at all to the site so take a look here instead.
This one’s a corker !

Humberside Airport Archaeology ~ Kirmington Airport History

I was at Humberside International Airport today !
Rest easy, I was not catching a flight out, volcanic ash from Iceland saved me from the possibility of leaving Lincolnshire, but there to check out an archaeological dig taking place on the site.

Women in Politics ~ Sexy or Sensible ?

Should women involved in politics play up their sexy side or does this do a disservice not only to themselves but serious minded career women as well
Image seems to be everything nowadays, look at the acres of newsprint given to the leaders wives and how they are being ‘glammed up’
Alluring as Sam Cam’s hemline seems to be for the press - she’s certainly pipped by a French female politician who posed for a magazine shoot in . . .
Fishnet Stockings ! ~ Surely it’s getting too much ?

Great Limber ~ Knights Templar & More History

Great Limber in Lincolnshire was where I found myself today.
There was a Knight Templar Preceptory there but I suspect there’s much more to the place than there may initially appear.

The Hottest Day of the Year here in Lincolnshire
What a glorious day - your host couldn’t have been happier, well he could but the scenario I’m thinking seems unlikely, out all day on historical trails and Happy Trails
