Keeping things topical we’re on with All Hallows Eve again and a bit of fun for those who take part - or is it ?
According to the Vatican the Pope has stated today that Hallowe’en is Anti-Christian and Dangerous !
Dramatic stuff, but really is it ? And do things like this simply risk alienating people from the church ?

It’s a good place for a church - near the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln and very close to the Cathedral itself.
It seems a natural stopping point for those looking to get their breath back - not so your host of course - he’s powered by Duracell and goes on and on
Here’s an interesting and individual church St. Michael on the Mount in Lincoln - Lincolnshire

OK folks it’s Indian Summer Part II - that is to say the weather today was just like yesterday so off I go again.
I figured I ought to take a break from the churches so a day out in Lincoln, despite being there on Monday, seemed just the ticket.
Maybe buy a local history book, picnic by the river that sort of thing - however . . . to quote Pacino in The Godfather
Just when I thought I was out they drag me back in !

The weather and time of year is in clear flux here, clocks gone back, dark nights and mornings, falling leaves and a distinct chill in the air.
The kitchen garden is in its final throws but still has something to give.
This time it’s Borlotti Beans, my first crop of home grown borlotto have now been harvested

East Halton - Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery - that was the mission of the day.
Following a tip off from indispensable Chris Keyworth I set forth once again in search of a piece of Lincolnshire history of which I had, yet again, never heard of and thanks to the information and map coordinates from CeeKay the mission was a success.

Mother nature has provided us with a template and basic theory called evolution. The basis is fairly simple, if things change then they should change for the better.
As times and requirements change then so do various needs and facilities - so given that every day we all have increased experience of everything about us then surely any changes should make things better and / or easier !

My current interests and researches are, amongst other things, much biased toward historical places and items of interest along with a bit of historical research and detective work and The Knights Templar. Therefore, potentially putting the two together is especially satisfying.
I expect this article to be more formative than definitive, I am hoping it will grow as more information comes to light.
Anyway, here is an article about the possibility of a genuine Knights Templar artefact in a Lincolnshire museum

It was here that something of great interest caught my eye . . . Another historical mystery to be solved
