Do Men Have More Confidence and Self-Esteem than Women ?
I have mentioned before that there is often a . . .
bit more going on with this site than may immediately meet the eye.
It’s the end of the month so not only do I evaluate how the site has done but it is also time for me to see how my experiment into a basic difference between men and women went . . .

Saturday morning saw me with plenty to do on the domestic front but the outdoors is becoming increasingly like a narcotic - it seems to beckon causing me to fold with the slightest of excuses
Time being limited due to F1 qualifying it was off to Irby Dales to feed the soul and mind - a chance to lose oneself in one’s own thoughts.

Yesterday saw me on a little round trip just taking in the air, getting some exercise and enjoying the Lincolnshire Wolds in the sunshine - whilst it lasts.
Included in my itinerary was Tetney Lock; the idea being a lovely spot for a nice walk and perhaps a chance to get a few snaps

In a small village called Ashby Cum Fenby, in the Lincolnshire Wolds England, lies the tomb of an unknown knight.
The carved stone effigy dates circa 13th century - it’s an impressive thing to see - I know, I went there to do just that.
Little did I know I’d be setting out on a real life medieval mystery

It’s exam results time which means the teenage yoofs of Grimsby will be out of bed before 3pm
Healing School, that centre learning and advanced thinking, is the one local to me and at 9am this morning pupils can go and collect their results.
When I say 9am I mean 9am for some - it’s 8.30 for a select group of others . . .
Why would that be ?

The Times of London reports today the American President Barack Obama is ‘heartbroken’ at the news of the death of Ted Kennedy the US senator a member of the legendary Kennedy clan.
I smell the faint stench of hypocrisy here . . .

This is more of a rant about a day rather than anything historical - so if I’ve been boring you of late then you need not flip channels immediately
Today saw success and failure mixed in equal doses - elation and deflation dished up in 50/50 portions

It’s quite hard to describe the impact of Saint James Church in Louth as it seems as though it should be in a famous city rather than a small market town in the Lincolnshire Wolds
Anyway, take a look and see what you think, I also report on my trip and the town so a post not just about the church lest be be bored of them !

Today was something of a special trip, I went to Great Limber, in Lincolnshire of course, and the Mausoleum Woods which form part of the Brocklesby Park Estate.
I was in search of a Memorial Temple and a memorial to a World War II bomber crash site - what I wasn’t prepared for was the Hermitage - talk about bonus !

Derren Brown is a man for whom I’ve a great deal of time, indeed one of the few who I’ll tune in the old Cathode Ray Tube for - I’ve even bought and read his book.
So when I saw the trailer online for his new series I was intrigued - his voice is backwards as he walks across the road through traffic with cars and lorries everywhere.
I’ve two clips here which show how it’s done and also reveal what he is actually saying

After Failing Miserably the other day to find the anti aircraft battery at Brocklesby it was onward once again - this time the Goldeneye scorecard would not be marked with an FM - success was the only option for Operation Brocklesby Park Bunkers and Memorial Arch !

This certainly was a belting day out - fabulous weather and I found myself walking, for a change, in the Lincolnshire Wolds and, more precisely, the village of Walesby. High upon a hill stands a solitary church overlooking the village - officially known as All Saints but now perhaps better known as The Ramblers Church

Tank - Hard Rock Band
I’m strolling down memory lane here going back to my youth and wishing I still had my hair - hair all the way down my back that is - thankfully it’s all still there just short and sensible
The journey went further as I fished out the props for the picture to illustrate this article
