Quite some time ago on this site, during a discussion about Digital TV Channels and Freeview etc, I asked a question that came to me.
With the digital switch over meaning that the Government will switch off analogue broadcasting in 5 years - what will happen to car radios ?

It’s a phrase often used, well perhaps more in books and my house rather than on the street, but when did the actual Age of Chivalry come into being ?
You’d be forgiven for thinking it is all tied in to the Knights of the Round Table as so many people, including sources on the internet, make that connection - but the real story of men becoming officially chivalrous is . . .

Advertising during the Art Deco period must rank as by far the most stylish yet seen !
It was whilst flicking through a 1936 copy of Country Life magazine that once again I was struck by just what a stylish period it was.
I think I’m slightly frustrated here in this world as I always find my self compellingly drawn to this period - possibly I’m displaced

The results of an extensive survey undertaken here in the United Kingdom have just been published.
Reading the fallout I thought those commenting on the results had it wrong.
Various religious people with their cassocks in a twist seemed to miss the point I thought

One of the most famous battles fought in Lincolnshire was The Battle of Winceby which took place on 11 October 1643 during the English Civil War.
This was also the final stop on the now legendary tour of Two Men in a Benz !

I know there’s a recession on and times are not what they once were, today’s papers are full of highly qualified people applying for so-called McJobs.
Well dear reader, you’ll be either delighted or dismayed to hear the shock news . . .
Today saw your host working in a shop and for derisory pay 
I’m given to understand there is a minimum wage, legally enforceable no less, I’m not sure exactly what it is though I suspect it is a slightly higher hourly rate than the one I got.
