Just had a weird experience. Looking at a discussion board for Booksellers (not viewable by the public) I saw someone ask how they could identify a first edition of a Philip Pullman book as it was a little confusing

He got this reply from another seller
Below E bay listing of UK Doubleday first showing copyright page.

That link went to my copy of the book which I have for sale
The original poster then replies
The copy I have is the same as the e-bay listing’s. I hope both are firsts

To which he gets this reply
the E bay copy in the link will deifinitely (sic) be a first. He’s a reputable first edition seller.

People say the nicest things but strange to be a third party looking at what is written about you - at least they fell for the hype though - god knows what will happen when everyone tumbles me !

Trust you all enjoyed your valentine’s day and that none of our male readers with obligations in this area forgot their duty !

Here at Goldeneye we have to report mixed fortunes, success in as much as we received 2 cards but some slight disappointment in that it marked a diminution from last year’s total of 3 !
I suspect there must a have been a postal failure

Genuine best wishes to all out there and I hope you and yours enjoy the day.
Those who, sadly, are not participating in the day pull your fingers out !

PS: If anyone is wondering whether Goldeneye has booked a table for two in a romantic setting I can put your mind at ease - my dinner is in the oven as we speak with one setting at the dining table.

That said, I am going somewhere tonight - you would never believe where - I scarcely believe it myself !
